Watermelon is a popular fruit for summer, While we all enjoy eating this fruit, we usually discard the tiny seeds scattered in it without realizing or rather knowing of their health benefits. These seeds are loaded with nutrients including fatty acids, essential proteins and lots of minerals. These seeds are rich in vitamin B like thiamine, niacin and minerals like magnesium, potassium, manganese, iron, zinc, phosphorus and copper. That’s why use watermelon as a juice/sharbat because I make this sharbat with seeds,

Watermelon sharbat (Tarbooz ka sharbat) is recommended drink to take in summers as it contains 92% water and 8% sugar, It is very energetic drink in summer.  Take this in summer to energize yourself.

Let's make a tasty refreshing watermelon drink and neutralize the excess heat in burning summer days.

Ingredients:-

Watermelon- 1 kg
Black Salt- 1/2 tsp
Ice- 5-10 cubes
Lemon- 1
Mint powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - Depend on fruit sweetness (you can use roohafza instead of sugar)

Method:-


Take Watermelon and cut into pieces. 
Blend Watermelon pieces with seeds. 
Seive the pup and Extract the purely juice. 
Add some sugar as per fruit sweetner. 
Add Black Salt, pepper and squeez the lemon 
Add ice cubes and serve cold. 


Step by Step :-


Take Watermelon and cut into piece.


Blend all pieces with seeds  and sieve. 


Add sugar


Add Salt, Pepper , Mint powder, Lemon

Now serve Cold

Kadai chicken is a popular recipe from North India. It is  a perfect blend of spices ,colour and flavour. It is the most liked recipe by children and non veg lovers .It tastes great with Indian breads like naan, roti, parantha, chapatti or even with plain steamed rice.

The prepared gravy can also be used with paneer and mushroom to make kadai paneer and kadai mushroom respectively.


Ingredients
  1. 1/2 Kg Chicken
  2. Oil 3 tablespoons
  3. Onions 3 medium
  4. Coriander seeds 2 teaspoons
  5. Cumin seeds 2 teaspoons
  6. Black pepper 
  7. Dried red chilies 5`
  8. Chopped Capsicum
  9. Tomatoes 3 medium
  10. Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons
  11. Green chillies 2
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Cashewnut paste 2 tablespoons


How to make Kadai Chicken

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick kadai. Slice onions and add and sauté.
  2. Heat another non-stick pan. Add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper and dry roast for 1 minute. Add dried red chilies and roast till fragrant. Cool and powder coarsely.
  3. Chop tomatoes and puree in a blender. When onions are lightly browned, ,add ginger-garlic paste and 2 tbsps water and sauté. 
  4. Chop green chilies and add. Also add Capsicum. Sauté for ½ minute and add powdered spices and stir.
  5. Add chicken and mix well. 
  6. Add pureed tomatoes and mix well. 
  7. Add salt, cashew nut paste and ½ cup water and mix well. Cover and cook. 
  8. When it comes to a boil, reduce heat and cook for about 20 minutes or till the chicken is done.
  9. Now Kadai Chicken is ready  .Garnish and serve hot.

      











































Healthy Kala Chana Soup

Kala Chana soup is a rich source of iron. Iron is very important for formation of hemoglobin and soup can help in maintaining your hemoglobin level.

I made the Kala Chana Soup from the leftover water after I boiled the chana  for Kanjak , or for salad or sprout. I didn't feel like throwing the water as we use the dry chana. 

First time when I made this kala chana soup , my kids tasted a little, thinking that it might not be that delicious but after taking one sip ,they said it's very tasty and demanded more, It was so delicious with flavor of garlic and ginger. Making of kala channa soup is very simple.

Ingredients:-
4 cup of chana water (with little bit chana)
1 tsp of ginger paste
1 tsp of garlic paste
1 tsp of Garam Masala
1/2 tsp of black pepper 
1/2 tsp of coriander powder
salt as per your taste 
Green Coriander 
1 tsp ghee or olive oil 
1/2 tsp assafoetida
2 green onion (chopped)

Method:-

Heat oil in a pan , add assafoetida , add garlic paste, add ginger paste and sarute for 2-3 min. 
Add Green onion and saute for 2-3 min. 
Add tomato puree , mix very well and cook for 3-4 min until 
Add Black pepper, salt , garam masla and cook for another  2 min. 
Add Chana water and cook for 5-8 min. 
after that check the consistency as per taste. 
Garnish with green coriander and serve hot. 

Step by Step :-

Heat oil in a pan 



Add Cumin Seeds

 Add Garlic and Ginger Paste 



Add green onion and saute 

Add tomato 

  
Add Chana water 




Boil for 5-6 min.

 Serve hot




Healthy Shahi Paneer for fasting



Healthy Shahi Paneer 


As all of you know very well, Shahi paneer name itself shows it is very shahi dish, it is full of cream, butter and sugar, instead of all these things we replace it with curd, honey, cashew and almond Paste. We give a healthy version to my dish so that it will give you an energy in fasting days.  

I have some restriction making dish as we are using in fasting. Will give you another version also after some time. 

Ingredients:-

1 tsp oil
1 cup of tomato puree
1/4 cup  whisked low fat curd
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp honey
1/2 cup alomd/cashew cream
250 grm low fat paneer , cut into cubes. 


How to make Shahi Paneer 

  • Take a pan and heat the oil add ginger paste and sauté for few seconds.
  • Add Tomato puree and sauté on medium flame for another 5-6 min while stirring occasionally.
  • Add red chili, salt mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1-2 min.
  • Add Cashew and Almond paste and mix well
  • Add Curd, mix well and cook on the medium flame
  • Add Honey, and cook for 1-2 min
  • Add Paneer, mix well cook on a medium flame for another 2 min., don’t stir too much otherwise paneer will crack,
  • Now Shahi Paneer is ready to be served. 

Step by Step:-
Arrange all things at one place
Heat oil and add ginger and saute for 2-3 min.

 Add tomato puree 
                                                           Cover the pan with lid
 
Add Cashew and almond paste and curd


Add red chili ,salt and honey 


 Mix well the gravy


Add Paneer Cubes and mix them well


Now stir continuously and check the water consistency


Now creamy and healthy shahi paneer is ready.
