Mooli ki Burji (Radish)


Mooli ki Burji

Mooli ki bhurji (Radish) is very healthy and easily available vegetable during winters. It has numerous health benefits, is a great detoxifies, good for the stomach and liver, helps in curing jaundice and reduces the chances of cancer etc.
Mooli ki burji is a special Punjabi dish, usually people use mooli (radish) in making mooli parantha, sabzi, salad but throw away the green leaves, but we use green leaves also in Mooli ki burji.

It a perfect combination with Dal (moong dal), my husband likes it. 


Ingredients:-
Mooli (Radish)- ½ kg
1 tsp oil
1 pinch hing (asafetida)
½ tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp amchur (dry mango powder)
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chili
Salt as per taste

Method:-
Wash Radish white and green leave both thoroughly.
Peel and chopped the same, Chop Radish leaves also.
Heat oil in a pan ,
Add cumin seeds and hing (asafetida), fry for few seconds.
Add chopped radish white and covered with lid, cook until vegetable are tender or till then golden.
Add masala (salt, amchur, red chili, turmeric powder, add green leaves and mix well. Cook further for 10-15 min till the whole moisture is evaporated.
Now Mooli ki bhurji is ready to served. Serve hot with chapatti and dal as a side dish.


Step by Steps :-
Wash and Peel the Radish and chop roughly 



Heat oil in a pan 


Add cumin seeds and pinch of hing(asafetida)


Add Ginger paste  


Add chopped Radish 


Cover the lid


cook until vegetable are tender or till then golden. 


Add masala (salt, amchur, red chili, turmeric powder)


Add green leaves and mix well. 



Cook further for 10-15 min till the whole moisture is evaporated


Now Mooli ki bhurji is ready to served


Pls note:-

Use only fresh and green leaves, do not use the leaves which are yellow in colour.
